Can you grill an egg? Sure you can. There are a couple of different ways to accomplish this besides placing a frying pan or grill griddle on your grates and cooking it the traditional method. Here we will cover how to grill an egg in its shell as well as a fried. This is a great topper for a bacon cheese burger, I like it with a nice runny yolk.
Part 1 Grill an egg in its shell:
There is no prep here outside of preheating your grill to medium heat. Do not grill on high heat, the egg will break open if cooked to quickly. Place the egg directly over the heat and roll it over about 1/3 of the way every 3 minutes and repeat three times. Total cook time of 10 minutes if you like soft boiled eggs, 15 minutes for hard boiled with bright yellow yolk.
After cooked to taste remove from grill and place into a cold water bath, until the egg is cool to the touch. Remove the shell and serve.
When we have some leftover beer can chicken we will use the meat to grill quesadillas. Grilling quesadillas is quick, easy and different grilling option and only requires 3 ingredients, 6 inch tortilla’s, shredded cheese and some kind of fully cooked meat in this case chicken. You can make this dish as simple or complex as you would like with different meats and cheeses for a different experience every time this post is just a very basic how to.
You will need two 6 inch tortillas for each quesadilla you plan on grilling. If you want to use a 12 inch tortilla we do recommend the use of a quesadilla grill basket. We prefer to use the Mexican cheese blend of shredded cheese for this but feel free to use whatever type of shredded cheese you would like.
Shred the chicken. You can use some meat shredding claws or a couple of forks, just pull the meat apart. You can use cut up chicken but it will leave lumps in your tortillas.
If you want to learn how to grill pizza you should be aware of the three basic techniques that you can use. How to grill pizza: With a Pizza Stone:
A pizza stone used on the grill is the same as the ones that are used in your oven. If you can place the stone on a spot on your grill away from direct heat, if this is impossible keep the heat turned down all the way. On a charcoal grill use minimal coals spread thin to reduce the heat transferred to the stone.
Place your pizza stone on the grill and heat the grill for about 20 minutes to a temperature of around 400 degrees, this would be somewhere around medium-high heat. Keep in mind that it will take the stone longer to heat up completely so do not shortcut the time. You will want to dust your stone with corn meal; this allows the pizza to slide off the stone more easily.
